Looking back at September, we relish in the outstanding work that enabled us to have our new Mattapan Health Center open its doors. It was an amazing event that we had the opportunity to share with Dr. Azzie Young,  State Senator Jack Hart, State Rep. Linda Dorcena Forry, Governor Deval Patrick, U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano, along with Mayor Thomas Menino among many others.  This was such a proud moment for the city. On the national level, we enjoyed some of the most inspiring words of encouragement and promise from the Democratic National Convention down in Charlotte, North Carolina. DNC 2012 was a week of rallying and testament, that we feel, left the GOP in the dust. In essence, September, 2012 was jam packed with growth and celebration.

While all of this excitement was taking place, we also have a hard road ahead of us for the next few weeks as we fight an uphill redistricting battle to reunite Mattapan. We strongly urge you to reach out in any way, shape, and form to ask how this will affect you. This great City of Boston relies on the population to be educated to keep all of us that represent you honest. Our districting may seem a little daunting at first but again, if you have any questions on how the new maps, that are reviewed every 10 years, will affect you, please reach out to us.  That being said, enjoy this month’s installment of our newsletter.
